DESCRIPTION
In a sentence, and in a few paragraphs.
ONE LINE
Four WARDEN contractors against an alien incursion: a 2D roguelite run-and-gun with stacking gear, five bosses that fill the screen, and 2–4 player co-op.
SHORT
Four WARDEN contractors against an alien incursion. A 2D roguelite run-and-gun: procedurally assembled zones, stacking gear that gets out of hand, and five bosses that fill the screen. Solo or 2–4 player co-op.
LONG
Something came through the Rift. WARDEN has four operatives on the payroll and an equipment requisition budget. That is the whole plan.
TROUBLE SHOOTERS is a 2D roguelite run-and-gun. Every run assembles a fresh chain of rooms, hands you whatever the drop tables felt like handing you, and asks you to make it work. The aliens are numerous, expressive, and extremely committed. So are you.
Each of the four operatives carries a permanent weapon that never runs dry. Field weapons go to the DSCO, a support drone that follows you, holds whatever you picked up, and fires when you fire until the ammunition runs out. Over sixty stacking items multiply rather than replace one another, so a run that begins with a slightly faster reload can end with a screen that is no longer strictly legible.
Every zone ends with a boss that takes up the whole screen. Bring up to three friends: invites go through Steam, and a death is not the end of the run while a teammate is still standing.
FEATURES
What is in the box.
- Four operatives. Grunt (rifle, no bad matchups), Oduya "Tank" (pile-driver fists), Vasquez "Doc" (combat medic with a drone escort) and Wraith (thrown daggers, highest damage, thinnest skin).
- The DSCO. A drone that carries the field weapon you pick up and fires it on your trigger. You are never unarmed and never stuck with a bad pickup.
- 60+ stacking items, plus consumables for when the plan stops working.
- Five bosses across four zones. The first is the Foremen: four industrial emplacements working a shared metronome, where the rhythm tightens every time one of them goes down.
- 2–4 player co-op. Steam invites with no lobby codes or port forwarding. A downed operative redeploys at the next zone boundary; the run ends when the last one goes down.
- Four operation tiers, from Easy to Invaders Must Die, each unlocked by finishing the one before it.
- Full controller support with rebinding, an uncapped framerate, and a WARDEN terminal that answers when you type at it.
THE DEMO
Free from October 1. In Steam Next Fest, October 19–26.
